Denver Lincoln Limousine, Inc is the first Colorado company using
only stretches built to QVM standards.
Ford's initiation of the Quality Vehicle Modifier (Q.V.M.) program
in 1990, was a pro-active approach by the company to help improve
the integrity and quality of the Lincoln Town Car limousine conversions.
Since Q.V.M.'s inception, the program initiatives and efforts have
resulted in the establishment of numerous support programs such
as purchase/conversion incentives, a fleet service hotline, Lincoln
Limo Care dealer program, Extended Service Plan (ESP) coverage,
annual Q.V.M. product/technical exchange meetings, credit assistance
and advertising programs, and customer satisfaction surveys, among
others.
Qualification for Q.V.M.. status for Coachbuilder begins with
a stringent certification process. To maintain official membership
and high program standards, Coachbuilder must pass an annual on-site
evaluation by a Q.V.M. assessment team that includes an evaluation
of the company facility, production processes, and consistent vehicle
conversion quality.
A vehicle built to Q.V.M. standards has a Gross Vehicle Weight
rating of 7100 lbs (standard Town Car G.V.W. is only 5400 lbs) and
the Coachbuilder has tested and passed mandatory FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE
SAFETY STANDARDS (F.M.V.S.S. required by ALL vehicles on the road)
for each size of stretch length they produce. F.M.V.S.S. testing
includes a barrier test, 135 break performance, 301 fuel system
integrity, collisions in the front and rear, 208 occupant protection,
collisions from front and side, and flammability tests. Cost for
such tests are $75,000.00 in addition to the cost of the vehicle
used for the test.
