Terminated membership due to non-payment of 2012 dues:

  

In November 2009 a Denver Police Officer enforced a 1950 dormant ordinance on Denver Lincoln Limousine, Inc. (A licensed Transportation service with a Garage location in Aurora) while at the Denver International Airport. He claimed that all drivers of any vehicle designed to transport passengers, for hire or other consideration must be relicensed by the Denver Department of Excise who issue a “Drivers License”. This license does not require the license (driver Chauffeur) to maintain any hours of service log. It exempts many other companies that are providing the same services we do. He started impounding our vehicle and terminated a pre arranged pick up. The Denver County Court on January 27, 2010 dismissed the ticket issued on November 9, 2009. The now Denver Mayor Michael Hancock issued an apology in his official capacity as Councilman for district 12 where the Denver International Airport is located.

The CLA do not require Members with Drivers operating on the Denver Streets or at Denver International Airport for proof of compliance with this licensing ordinance. Members are only required to show commercial Insurance.

The Denver Better Business Bureau (Denver BBB) also does not require the Members or the Accredited Members do not provide proof for those Drivers providing airport service are licensed by Denver. An official BBB notice went out stating: “On Wednesday, February 10, 2010, your BBB contacted you regarding the Herdic license required for any driver who operates a "vehicle for hire" on the streets of the City of Denver. Please accept our apologies, as it has recently come to our attention that only the individual driver of such a vehicle is legally responsible for this licensure. A driver's employer is not legally culpable if that driver is found in violation of the licensing requirement. ... Jason Bell, Business Relations, BBB Serving Denver/Boulder"

It’s only a Driver requirement and the Companies are not requires to make sure drivers are licensed? For these reasons we have chosen not to renew our memberships with these “Consumer protection” originations.
